Famous Indian yoga master BKS Iyengar sent U.S. stars fashion designer Donna Karan calls on it to eliminate the use of rabbit fur in her clothing, said in a statement.


92-year-old Iyengar said that he was appealing to Karan to join other top fashion designers - including Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger - who does not use fur in their designs.


"As a practitioner of yoga, can I ask you, on behalf of themselves and their friends from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals India to take a position against the use of animal fur, which is removed from the brutal murders of methods," Iyengar the letter said.


"Mr. Iyengar uses its power and influence to help animals," said People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals representative Poorva Joshipura on Saturday.

Iyengar, renowned as one of the leading trainers in the world of yoga, said he asked Karan to stop using "Fur, which is strongly removed from live animals, so that those animals which have the right to live, to live in peace" ;.
